Topic: B.E5 The Power of Self-Directed Learning in Developing Engaged and Independent Learners

Synopsis: Do we believe that children have agency and possess the innate ability to be curious and investigate their curiosities? How closely do we pay attention to a child's interests and inclinations?

In this presentation, participants will learn how to tap on a child's innate ability to direct the course of their learning to create meaningful learning goals. It begins with understanding what self-directed learning encompasses, how its application will improve children's mental health and how educators can combine children's interests and/or needs into self-directed learning moments to help them achieve their learning goals.
