Nellyn graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelors of Arts, majoring in Psychology. Since then, she has dedicated her career to children, and has been working with young children with additional needs for the past nine years. Her past work experience includes being Head of the Early Intervention team at Wee Care Singapore, as well as the Head of the Early Intervention Programme at the Dynamics Therapy Group.

Nellyn strongly believes that every child with special needs deserves a chance at integration in the mainstream environment, and works with others to achieve this. To her, the biggest reward in her career is watching a child develop into an individual who is meaningfully involved in society and the world around them.

Keeping Preschool Kids Up to Sp(e)Ed: Social Inclusion in the Classroom

This presentation seeks to break down the notion of social inclusion of children with additional needs in mainstream preschools for educators. Drawing on her own experience, the speaker will cover tangible strategies for teachers to involve children and their friends with additional needs in mainstream settings.
